Casey Strout

Casey Strout, Food Hub Coordinator, grew up in Jacksonville, NC. As an Eastern North Carolina native, she has grown up with an appreciation of the unique and beautiful ecosystem our area has to offer. She attended Appalachian State University and graduated with a BS in Sustainable Development and a minor in Political Science. Casey learned to appreciate farming and food systems at home and abroad. She spent two weeks working with a local, generational, family farm in Costa Rica, learning about sustainable farming practices and has also spent six months living and working on a farm in Ecuador. After graduating, Casey moved to Charlotte, NC where she worked at farm-to-table restaurants and gained experience at the front end of food systems.

Casey moved to Wilmington in March of 2023 and joined the Feast Down East team that May. She is looking forward to working with the local food systems and supporting small farmers. When she is not working with FDE, she enjoys rock climbing, running, going to the beach, and listening to live music.
