Vanessa is an attorney, community volunteer and activist. Her law firm, The Law Office of Vanessa A. Gonzalez, is located in downtown Wilmington and focuses on immigration law and related legal matters that affect the immigrant community and their families. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in both Political Science and Spanish from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke and a Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill School of Law. She is active in her local community as a Board member for the YWCA and Going Beyond the Pink, a member of New Hanover For All, and a volunteer for Lawyers for Literacy at Snipes, Gregory and Freeman Elementary schools. Outside of the courtroom, you might find Vanessa at a local protest or out enjoying her favorite New York style pizza with son Max.
