Andre Brown, JD
Marketing & Fundraising Committee
Andre is an attorney with Legal Aid of North Carolina’s Wilmington Office. He is a Wilmington native and graduate of John T. Hoggard High School. Andre received his B.A. in Economics from UNC-Wilmington and his juris doctorate from Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law in Houston, Texas.
Andre has worked for Legal Aid of North Carolina, a non-profit which provides free civil legal services to low-income North Carolinians, for over a decade. Prior to re-locating back to Wilmington, he represented homeowners throughout the state in danger of losing their homes to foreclosure during the Great Recession, for which he and his colleagues were awarded the N.C. Justice Center’s Defenders of Justice Award for Litigation. Later, he became Managing Attorney of Legal Aid’s Fayetteville Office where he broadened his advocacy to include representing domestic violence victims and tenants being illegally evicted from their homes.
Andre is good friends with one of the co-founders of Feast Down East and therefore has been periodically apprised of its trajectory since its inception. He looks forward to helping it continue to work towards its original mission.
